Alesund — Molde — Torvik
Sail across a stretch called the Stadthavet, heading for Torvik. A stop in the beautiful Art Nouveau town, Alesund. Call at Molde, a favorite of Henrik Ibsen, famous Norwegian playwright. The ship navigates the Hustadvika, a belt of islets and skerries before docking at Kristiansund.

Trondheim — Rovik
Arrive in Trondheim, the Viking capital, with time to visit Norway’s largest medieval church, Indoors Cathedral, and the restored Archbishop’s Residence. You’ll then sail out through the beautiful Trondheimsfjord, past Hitra, island of deer and lonely Grip. At the days’ end, you’ll call at Rovik.

Ornes — Bodo — Stansund — Svolvaer
Cross the Arctic Circle at 66 degrees. Pass islands and skerries of majestic rock formations. After Bodo, the ship heads out to open sea for the Lofoten Islands, with their picturesque cabins on stilts and weathered wooden racks of drying cod. In the evening, you will navigate the narrow Raftsund Strait, passing the looming crags of the Trollfjord.

Harstad — Finnsnes — Tromso — Skjervoy
This morning pass the medieval Trondenes church before calling at Harstad. Afterward, sail across the Vagsfjord, past the great island of Senja and its farmland, pine trees, and plunging peaks. A stop at Tromso where 19th century sailors called before heading off on Arctic expeditions.

Honningsvag — Kjollefjord
Finnmark’s landscape, austere in its beauty, teems with wildlife. Watch for rookeries of puffins and gannets along the cliffs, and pods of orca, or Killer Whales, hunting for herring. After calling at Honningsvag, the ship heads east toward the pretty fishing villages of Kjollefjord, Mehamn, and Berlevag.

Vardo — Kirkenes — Batsfjord — Berlevag
Cross Varangerfjord, Norway’s only east-facing fjord and fabled bird-watching site, before arriving in Vardo. The ship calls at Batsfjord, which also boasts the remains of a Stone Age settlement, and Berlevag. Search for the lights tonight from the deck as we sail southward back to Tromso.

Hammerfest — Tromso
Call at Hammerfest, the world’s northernmost town of more than 5,000 people. Watch for the Northern Lights as the vessel approaches Tromso. Disembark at Tromso for special aurora watching.
Upon disembarking, experience the Arctic Cathedral, built in 1965, midnight concert. The candlelight flicker, this elegant church is filled with the sounds of the most beautiful Norwegian folk songs as well as some wonderful classical and sacred selections. This musical experience is enhanced by the Arctic Cathedral’s sublime acoustics. Transfer to your hotel for two nights.

The day is at leisure to enjoy the sites nearby before we go out on the aurora hunt tonight. Take the Fjellheisen Cable Car to the top of the Fløyfjellet Mountain (1,400 feet) and enjoy breathtaking views of the city, mountains and fjords. The experience center, Polaria, lies five minutes from the city center. Here you’ll find an Arctic aquarium, interesting knowledge-based exhibits, a panoramic cinema and a gift and souvenir shop. Tonight there is an excursion outside the city for aurora watch.
