Itinerary

Day 1 – Sunday, March 19, 2023

  Meet your group in Seattle and fly to Fairbanks together.  Transfer to your hotel.  Meet your fellow Aurora Chasers for a drink and dinner on your own before our first lecture from Dennis Mammana!  Afterwards we head out to view the ice sculpture masterpieces at the World Ice Art Championship.  Later this evening, conditions permitting, we’ll begin our hunt for the lights near the Alaska Pipeline!

Day 2 – Monday, March 20, 2023

  Tour Fairbanks, with stops at The Museum of the North at the University of Alaska.  Enjoy lunch at our favorite Cookie Jar Restaurant!  Walk your lunch off around Pioneer Park, which will take you back to the gold rush days!  Visit the North Pole and then enjoy our official welcome dinner at the historic Chatanika Lodge.  This is also where we will continue the hunt for more Northern Lights.  Meals: B, L, D

Day 3 – Tuesday, March 21, 2023

  Check out of our Fairbanks hotel and drive to the Fred Meyer Store for any last minute necessities!  Visit the Alaska Pipeline, one of the most amazing engineering feats of the 20th century, on our way to Chena Hot Springs.  We’ll check in at Chena Lodge and relax.  Lecture #2 from Dennis followed by more Aurora Hunting tonight!  Optional tour available for a Snow Cat ride to the top of the mountain.  Meals: B

Day 4 – Wednesday, March 22, 2023

  Dennis will have his 3rd and final lecture this morning and then the rest of your day is free to relax, enjoy a dip in the Hot Springs, or go for a hike, because we will have more lights to find tonight.  Meal: B

Day 5 – Thursday, March 23, 2023

  On our penultimate day in Chena Hot Springs, you may sleep late or enjoy some excursions around the area, like dog sledding!  Look forward to our afternoon tour of the Aurora Ice Museum & Bar!  More lights tonight!  Meal: B

Day 6 – Friday, March 24, 2023

  After breakfast, we’ll check out and enjoy our scenic drive back to Fairbanks looking for wildlife.  We will check in and relax after a long week!  Tonight will be our farewell dinner at the Pump House, Fairbank’s favorite!  Meals: B, D

Day 7 – Saturday, March 25, 2023

  After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight home.  Optional Arctic Circle fly/tours available.  Meal: B
