Day 2, Saturday, Oct 19th Arrive Lisbon – Évora


Welcome to Portugal, arrive at Lisbon Airport and be greeted by your tour director for transfer to your hotel in Évora. En route we stop for a local lunch & wine tasting. Check in at your hotel followed by city tour. Welcome to Évora, one of Portugal’s oldest Roman settlements visit the city center including the original roman Temple. Tonight enjoy time to unpack and relax.

Day 3, Sunday, Oct 20th – Évora / Alqueva


Today we explore the megalithic sights around Évora and Alqueva district. Evening stargazing with Dark Sky Alqueva.

Day 4, Monday, Oct 21st – Lisbon, Ponta da Piedade, Lagos

Morning departure for Algarve crossing the River Tagus to the southern coast of Portugal. The Algarve has the call of the sea that led to the discovery of the New World. Stop in Ponta da Piedade and admire the magnificent view over the Atlantic Ocean, and cliffs whose shapes have been sculpted by the erosive action of both the sea and time. Upon arrival in Lagos check in at your hotel. Tonight enjoy a traditional Algarve dinner.

Day 5, Tuesday, Oct 22th – Sagres/Cabo de S. Vicente/ Lagos


Today we explore the southern coast of Algarve and the most southwestern point in Europe on the Atlantic. Proceeding along the cliffs to Cabo São Vincente, the most southwestern point in Europe. Evening program at the COAA in Portimão for star-gazing.

Day 6, Wednesday, Oct 23th – Serra Arrábida/Setúbal/Lisbon


Morning departure for Lisbon, en route we drive through the Serra Arrábida. Stop for lunch in Setúbal. In the afternoon we drive to the Capital of Portugal Lisbon. Check in to your hotel followed by Dinner. Evening program and viewing at the Lisbon Astronomical Observatory.

Day 7, Thursday, Oct 24th – Lisbon

Morning tour of Lisbon. Cathedrals, regal monasteries and charming museums are all part of the colorful cityscape. The Belem Tower, and the Monument to the Discoveries. Tonight explore Lisbon & some of the traditional restaurant on your own.

Day 8, Friday, Oct 25th – Sintra/ Cabo da Roca/ Cascais/ Estoril


Today explore Sintra, Cabo da Roca, Cascais and Estoril. Tonight enjoy a farewell dinner Fado show. Meaning “destiny or “fate,” fado is the urban folk music of Portugal.

Day 9, Saturday, Oct 26th – Lisbon to USA 


Depart your hotel and transfer to Lisbon Airport for your return flight home. Friday, July 15, 2023
